Morning gift from maasi-ma

My day started with a cup of tea. I could reach this cup of tea by walking at least a kilometer from my residence. The tea hut is located near a kheya (bamboo bridge) that connects Salt Lake and the thickly populated area of Keshtopur. Maasi-ma is the boss of the tea hut and she has a mastery over making a tasty, hot lal cha. You will not believe that this dearest maasi-ma commands the officer-in-command of Bidhannagar thana and its entire constabulary. She keeps a vigilant eye on the people crossing the canal. Most of them are womenfolk coming from the Keshtopur ghetto to work as domestic help. I find maasi-ma a caring mother to those who are in trouble and need her help. She even offers them tea and snacks free of cost. Her kindness doesn't stop here. There is a dog Raja who also enjoys her courtesy. In this residential locality of Salt Lake this tea hut of maasi-ma is a unique place where people of all classes assemble for a cup of tea. In Salt Lake where a person like me feels so isolated, this morning gathering is like a free gift.

Second Post

Hi. This is my second post.

Disturbed Sleep

Aadab. It is me, Anis Rafi. Bloggers have a nice day, though I have not started the day as others might have. My morning was artificial tears in dry eyes. The tryst with morning was not pleasant as it should have been. The sleep and the dreams were clashing with each other. And they defeat each other. Umpire stands helpless, his fingers down.
